    The City of LaVergne is soliciting applications for an HR Assistant. The positions performs a variety of responsible duties associated with departmental operations.  The individual will assists with all department activities and performs intermediate skilled clerical and responsible administrative work, while maintaining employee records and files and providing clerical support to internal and external customers. The position reports to the Director of Human Resources.

    H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent combined with Administrative Services and Human Resources related higher education training.    Minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible direct work related experience in Human Resources or Personnel Services is required.  Associates Degree and/or Human Resources Certification (PHR, IPMA-CS or CP) is strongly preferred.

    The TN Municipal League is soliciting applications for its Executive Director.     The position requires the ability to conceive and implement programs and policies affecting all TN cities.  Also required is the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form.  The incumbent must possess the ability to work effectively with and implement the policies of the Board of Directors and member municipalities.

    The position requires a bachelor’s degree with a major in public administration, political science, or a related field or at least ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in municipal government or relevant association work, preferably in Tennessee.

    The City of Portland is recruiting for a Human Resources Director.  The position will report directly to the mayor and will be responsible for providing full-scope human resource services to fellow department heads, employees, and elected officials. Typical duties will include: development and administration of various technical phases of the city's personnel program, including policy development and administration; risk management; benefits administration; recruitment, selection, and placement; position classification and pay; employee relations programs, performance management, employee development, and workforce diversity; and providing advice to city management and personnel.

    The ideal candidate will have three (3) or more years of experience in an exempt level role in human resources in a comparably sized organization; local government experience is strongly preferred, but not required;

    • Strong change-agent mindset, and strong understanding of state and federal employment laws;
    • A bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, public policy, or comparable, from an accredited college or university - or equivalent experience; and
    • Strongly prefer one or more of the following certifications: PHR/SPHR, IPMA-CP/SCP.

    The City of Hendersonville, TN is recruiting for an ADA Coordinator.  This position will coordinate the City’s efforts to comply with and carry out its responsibilities under the American with Disabilities Act, as amended and other codes and laws governing and supporting people with disabilities; collaborate with management to develop plans and budgets for projects; and interact with City staff and the public to develop an interactive process to address ADA compliance.

    Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in business administration, public administration, human resources, social sciences, or a related field preferred. Preferred 3+ years of full-time experience in developing and implementing employer-based compliance and accommodation programs mandated by federal and state laws, including Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

    The City of Hendersonville is soliciting applications for its newly created position of City Administrator.  The City Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of our city government. The employee is under the general supervision of the Board of Mayor and Alderman (BOMA) and serves at the will and pleasure of BOMA. Instructions to the employee are general and the employee must routinely use independent judgment when completing tasks. The work requires frequent contact with the Mayor and Board of Aldermen, committees, all department heads and employees and the general public.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • A Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Public Administration or Business Administration. • Ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in municipal government including five (5) years of administrative and supervisory responsibility in a local government setting. • A member in good standing of International City/County Management Association (ICMA). • An ICMA credentialed manager or must receive ICMA credential within two (2) years of employment. • Ability to be bonded. • Possession of or the ability to obtain a valid TN driver’s license.

    The City of Hendersonville offers a highly competitive salary which is dependent on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and budgetary restrictions. The salary range is from $130,000 - $150,000 with a starting salary within the range of the minimum and midpoint.
