    The City of Hendersonville, TN is recruiting for an ADA Coordinator.  This position will coordinate the City’s efforts to comply with and carry out its responsibilities under the American with Disabilities Act, as amended and other codes and laws governing and supporting people with disabilities; collaborate with management to develop plans and budgets for projects; and interact with City staff and the public to develop an interactive process to address ADA compliance.

    Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in business administration, public administration, human resources, social sciences, or a related field preferred. Preferred 3+ years of full-time experience in developing and implementing employer-based compliance and accommodation programs mandated by federal and state laws, including Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

    The Tennessee Department of Transportation is currently seeking candidates for an HR Generalist 3 in Employee Relations for our Chattanooga location. The Legal Assistant assists the HR Assistant Director/Employment Law Counsel in all aspects of employment law for a state agency of over 4,100 employees. The HR Generalist 3 assists in communication between employees and supervisors, corrective action and planning, disciplinary actions, and explanation or clarification of policies and procedures for approximately 800 employees.  This position requires an extremely perceptive and organized person who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels within the organization.     The City of Hendersonville is soliciting applications for its newly created position of City Administrator.  The City Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of our city government. The employee is under the general supervision of the Board of Mayor and Alderman (BOMA) and serves at the will and pleasure of BOMA. Instructions to the employee are general and the employee must routinely use independent judgment when completing tasks. The work requires frequent contact with the Mayor and Board of Aldermen, committees, all department heads and employees and the general public.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • A Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Public Administration or Business Administration. • Ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in municipal government including five (5) years of administrative and supervisory responsibility in a local government setting. • A member in good standing of International City/County Management Association (ICMA). • An ICMA credentialed manager or must receive ICMA credential within two (2) years of employment. • Ability to be bonded. • Possession of or the ability to obtain a valid TN driver’s license.

    The City of Hendersonville offers a highly competitive salary which is dependent on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and budgetary restrictions. The salary range is from $130,000 - $150,000 with a starting salary within the range of the minimum and midpoint.

    The TN Department of Human Resources has two (2) vacancies for HR Generalist 2.  The HR Generalist 2 position is in the Shared Services division.  This position will be responsible for classification/compensation transactions including but not limited to position reclassifications, position updates, and pay adjustments.  This position will also be responsible for conducting job analysis on existing classifications and to establish new classifications.  This position may also assist as needed with a variety of other duties including, but not limited to, the hiring process, onboarding, benefits, protected leave, and transactions. 

    Education and Experience

    Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and experience equivalent to one year of professional human resources work.

    Substitution of Education for Experience

    Additional graduate coursework in human resources administration or other related acceptable fields may be substituted for the required experience, on a year-for-year basis, to a maximum of one year.

    Substitution of Experience for Education

    Qualifying full-time professional or paraprofessional human resources experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis to a maximum of four years.

    • §  Strong interpersonal skills dealing with employees at all levels within organization, including executive level positions.

    The University of TN - Municipal Technical Advisory Service is recruiting for a Human Resources Consultant for the Nashville Office.  The Human Resource Management Consultant provides professional advice, technical assistance and information on a wide range of human resource management issues to Tennessee municipal officials and their staffs.  The position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, or comparable, from an accredited post-secondary institution. A Master's Degree in Human Resource Management or related field of study is preferred.

    The position requires at least seven years of progressively responsible exempt-level human resource leadership experience. Prefer one of the following certifications: IPMA SCP, IPMA CP, HRCI SPHR, HRCI PHR, SHRM SCP and/or SHRM CP. Strongly prefer 1-2 years’ experience organizing, developing, and delivering consultative projects to internal and/or external customers related to human resource outcomes. Prefer classroom facilitation/teaching experience. Tennessee municipal experience preferred.

    The City of Gallatin, TN, an energetic, growing city only 30 miles north of Nashville with a population of over 38,000, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Director of Human Resources. The City of Gallatin has 426 full-time and regular part-time employees with 193 temporary/seasonal employees.

    Current starting pay: $ 76,974 with excellent benefits.     The City of Clarksville, TN is seeking applicants for a Health & Safety Coordinator.  This is the second of four levels in the Risk Management series.  Incumbents coordinate and monitor safety and health programs for an assigned department(s) and coordinate and present safety improvement opportunities.  Responsibilities may include developing, documenting, and implementing safety training programs; auditing safety and health program; tracking on the job injury reports, incident reports, and near misses; investigating accidents; ensuring safety equipment is available and properly maintained; inspecting job sites; maintaining records of safety information; preparing operational reports; and performing the duties of the lower level.

    The City of Gallatin has a new opening for an Assistant Director of Human Resources.  The position performs professional and administrative work in the creation, managing, planning and organizing programs while assisting the Director in the overall departmental administration.

    The Assistant Director will serves as the Director of Human Resources in the Director’s absence; manages the staff in the department; Be responsible for all aspects of HRIS payroll system functions, including but not limited to, inputting the payroll actions, and verifying actions and setting up workflows with IT for department use; reports final payroll to Director for auditing;  serves as subject matter expert to troubleshoot a variety of problems/issues; administers the City’s program for classification and pay, recruitment and selection, performance appraisal, and creates reliable strategic planning programs for those areas and ensures compliance with all regulations governing human resources; oversees the development of a compensation strategy with the HR Director and Finance Director, recommends pay structures and rules; evaluates progress, makes reports and recommendations on training and development and creation of professional development plans for employees.

    Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or closely related field with a minimum of three to five years professional progressively responsible experience in human resources. Prior experience with municipal or county governmental payroll and human resources is preferred.  Must have a minimum of three years supervisory experience. Professional certifications in Human Resources preferred. 

    Experience with Tyler MUNIS HR software for payroll/personnel functions highly desirable. Strong proficiency with MS Excel is required, must have knowledge and expertise of advanced excel functionality (advanced formulas, linked spreadsheets, pivot tables, formatting reports in excel, charts & graphs, etc.).

    Must have valid driver’s license.
