TPMA is pleased to offer TDOHR public sector professionals the HR Competency training for the International Public Management Association Human Resources-Certified Professional (IPMA HR-SCP) certification.
This four day (4) training is open to human resources specialists/generalists/managers in a public sector HR position in state government. The IPMA-HR Senior Certified Professional (IPMA-SCP) designation is the only professional credential that is public sector focused and competency-based. The IPMA-SCP is a designation that symbolizes excellence as an HR Expert, a business partner, a leader and a change agent in the field of human resources.
There are certain requirements to be eligible for certification. Your experience must be considered at the professional/managerial level and be considered exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). You must meet one of the following education/experience requirements:
· A Graduate level degree, and 2 years of HR experience, including 1 year of public-sector HR experience
· An Associate's degree and 6 years of HR experience, including 1 year in public sector HR, or
· No degree and 8 years of HR experience, including 1 year in public sector HR.
This program will be offered over a four day period.
This is the October West TN Human Resources Forum Luncheon. The purpose of the luncheon is to provide an opportunity for TPMA members in West TN to get together to discuss issues of importance to them.

This is the East TN Membership meeting.
Speakers for the morning include Mr. Dan Arp, Ombudsmen with the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserves. Dan will speak about the importance of USERRA Compliance. Following Dan will be Ms.Tomi Briggs Rogers. Tomi is the Human Resources & Operations Manager for the University of TN - Institute for Public Service (IPS).
HRCI and SHRM credits will be awarded.
Lunch will be provided.
This is the October Middle TN Human Resources Forum Luncheon. The Forum will be held at Famous Dave's Barbecue, 991 Industrial Blvd., Smyrna, TN. The purpose of the luncheon is to provide an opportunity for TPMA members in Middle TN to get together to discuss issues of importance to them.
This is a TPMA Managers meeting held in conjunction with IPMA-HR. The meeting agenda is as follows:
