    The City of Lebanon has a vacancy for a Risk Manager.  Under direction of the Human Resources Director, the Risk Manager is responsible for the administration of the City’s risk management program, loss prevention, loss control/claims management, & safety.  Qualified applicants must possess an accredited Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Public Administration or a closely related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Applicants must have at least four (4) years experience in Risk Management with at least one (1) year's experience in the public sector.  Certified Risk Manager (CRM) or Associate in Risk Management for Public Entities (ARM-P) would be a plus.  A valid TN Driver's License and clean driving record are required.

    Salary range for the position: $54,000 to $60,000 DOQ

    The TN Department of Human Services has an opening for an HR Analyst 3. The HR Analyst 3 will be responsible for over-seeing HR functions with a concentration in time and labor functions and supervising multiple state office analysts.  Some travel may be required.  The posting will run from September 7-September 13 2016.

    The City of Memphis has a vacancy for a Wellness Coordinator I.   The Coordinator works under the direction of the Workplace Wellness and Safety Senior Manager to coordinate all aspects of health promotion programs and events including but not limited to health screenings, health fairs, wellness education events and training, nutritional programs, and related support activities to enhance employees' fitness, disease management, and well-being.  The positions serves as primary contact for all health and productivity initiatives and performs a variety of Wellness-related tasks and projects simultaneously within all levels of City Government and at various locations.

    The salary for the position is:  $47,902.40 - $73,299.20 Annually

    Are you responsible for your organizations' retirement plan.  The Plan Sponsor University (TPSU) will be offering a free half-day fiduciary training program on August 24th, 2016 from 8:00am - 2:00pm at Vanderbilt University on how to better manage & optimize your company's retirement plan.  The program will be held in the Student Life Center (Board of Trust Room), 310 25th Avenue South. The program will cover topics pertaining to retirement plan leadership.

    Core areas of study during the on-site training program will include:

    •  Oversight of fiduciary liability
    •  Improvement of plan outcomes
    •  The roles of service providers/advisors
    •  Effective retirement plan management
    •  Design and oversight of a plan benefit committee
    •  Simple to implement improvements that have a high impact
    •  Comprehending key regulation — including DOL requirements

    The program has been pre-approved for 5 SHRM and HRCI Re-certification credits. There are reserved parking spaces in the Student Life Center Garage.

    The City of Franklin has a vacancy for a Human Resources Director.  The individual selected will direct all HR operations for the City of Franklin, including planning and developing programs and policies, supervising staff, and ensuring the City's compliance with local, state and federal regulations.  The HR Director also serves as administrator for the City of Franklin Pension Plan and 401(a) and 4578 plans.  Additionally, the position advises management and processes grievances; directs development and training programs; directs HR management and administration, oversees health and welfare benefits administration and Risk Management; manage employee recognition program and perform related duties and responsibilities to assist other employees in the department.

    The University of TN - Municipal Technical Advisory Service (MTAS) will be offering an employment law course entitled "Hiring and Firing Danger Zone From a Legal Perspective".  The training will be provided by Stacie Carraway, who is an attorney in the Chattanooga/Nashville area.  She’s a great instructor, and this particular course may be of great interest to you as HR professionals.
