The City of Murfreesboro is looking for a qualified Safety Officer in the Department of Human Resources. The Safety Officer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining Occupational Safety and Health Programs for City employees, maintaining a safe working environment, monitoring compliance with applicable safety laws and regulations, and creating a culture of safety.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree is required in, Environmental Health, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
- At least five (5) years of occupational health and safety experience in an industrial or municipality environment is required.
- Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations, including OSHA and TOSHA regulations.
Special Certifications and Licenses:
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification preferred.
- Certifications for OSHA Safety and Health Fundamentals Certificate, First Aid, CPR and AED Instructor, preferred.
