The Metro Nashville/Davidson County Human Resources Department is seeking talented people interested in a career in public service for a position of Human Resource Analyst 2 – Classification/Compensation. The position performs moderately complex professional, technical, and analytical classification and compensation activities related to the maintenance of the Metro compensation system. The Compensation Analyst will research job requirements and evaluate job positions to ensure Metro is competitive in the areas of salaries.
Typical Duties
- Provide administrative support to Class Comp and data analytics teams.
- Assess jobs and their respective duties to determine classification as exempt or nonexempt and appropriate salary range.
- Create and/or revise job descriptions and compensation rules and policies.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university and one year of classification/compensation or data analytics experience.
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), Society of Human Resources Management certification (SHRM) or other related Human Resources certification
- Knowledge and understanding of Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)
- Advanced skills using Microsoft Excel and Access
